Jen is Married!

Jen and Jaron's wedding was this past weekend. Jen's been my best friend for the past 18 years and I can't believe she is married now! She looked absolutely gorgeous, of course. I caught the bouquet. Again. I had caught the bouquet at my other bf's (Jess) wedding 4 years ago too. And I'm only 5 feet tall...go figure.

I made it out alive!

I survived the Bridal Weekend! It was a ton of fun! Friday night was Jen's Lingerie shower and she got some CUTE stuff! Saturday night all the girls went out in Downtown SD for the Bachelorette Party. We all dressed up as Vargas girls and everyone looked so hot!

** Craziest thing: Jen and I went to high school up in the Sacramento area. When we started the Bachelorette Night off, we had dinner at a mexican restaurant in SD. One of our guy friends from high school was our server! How crazy is that!!!**

Sunday we had an Engagement BBQ at the Park and I even got a tan/sunburn! YES! The weekend was so much fun and I am so excited for the wedding next month.

Returning home as been a bit of a rude awakening. I absolutely HATE my job. I have been applying none stop to jobs, but so far no luck. Also trying to decide whether I want to pursue a career in Hotel Hospitality/Management or go back to school for Radiation Therapy. Any suggestions?

I already have my BA and I hate the thought of going back to school. But I love the thought of making a difference and helping people. The Radiation Therapy program is about 2 years, so it wouldn't be that bad. I don't know....any suggestions?

So Excited!

I finally got into San Diego last night for Jen's Bridal Shower/Bachelorette Party weekend. It's currently 5 am and I have been wide awake for over an hour- I am so excited and my mind is crazy busy with everything I have to do today to pull of the Bridal Shower that's tonight. I am super excited/nervous to see how my vision of the decor is going to turn out.

I went to  my Weight Watcher's meeting yesterday morning and have officially lost 10.4 lbs. Woot woot! I only missed my goal weight that I had set for myself by the time I came to SD by .7lbs, but I figure I could easyily pee that away so I'm not too worried about it :P

My next goal is to lose 12.5 lbs by her wedding, which is over a month and a half away. I figure if I really focus, I have a pretty good chance of getting there.

Here We Go...

I started Weight Watchers on Friday. I've done it before and lost a TON of weight. About 14 months ago, I was at my thinnest. I felt amazing, looked pretty damn good if I do say so myself, and while I will never be 'skinny' (proud to say I have a booty and boobs), I was definitely a healthy thin.

What happened? Well as I mentioned in a previous post, 2008 ended up being a horrible year for me. For those that have read New Moon... basically that book embodies the pain I was going through. I was supposed to move to Australia to live with my (Australian) boyfriend. But literally at the last minute I chickened out and we broke up. I was heartbroken. Yes, it was my choice, but it ruined me. I spent the rest of the year crying, eating away my emotions, and laying in bed everyday til I had to go to work. So between being unmotivated to do anything and eating away my pain, the cute figure I worked so hard to get has become something I am more or less embarrassed of.

My best friend is getting married in June and I hope to lose at least 25 lbs by then. I would be feeling like the old me again.

Aside from my "Mai Tai of Weakness," I have stuck to my 'no booze for lent' commitment. I definitely like how my body feels without alcohol. As of March 1st, I have been a vegetarian for 2 months. Pretty proud of myself and impressed by how easy it's been so far.

Anyways, wish me luck with the weight loss. I hope this is the last time I will have to do WW.

Recent Discoveries: part trois

10. Pink Dolphin!
From ABCnews.com:
A rare albino dolphin has been spotted in Louisiana's Lake Calcasieu, an inland saltwater estuary north of the Gulf of Mexico. The pink mammal also has reddish eyes and was originally spotted swimming with a pod of four other dolphins by a charter boat captain, according to the U.K. Telegraph. The Amazon River in South America is home to a species of pink dolphin, called the boto, but biologists say this particular pink dolphin is an albino bottlenose that should be gray. (Caters News Agency)

9. Photographer Clark Little
His images from inside the swell are just incredible. Check him out!
(Image from his website)

8. Danielle already posted this video on her blog, but I think it's hilarious. My favorite part is around 2:11 when he starts doing a bobbing side-to-side motion. Please watch!

7. Britney Spears posted her set list on britneyspears.com for her Circus tour. Hmm...not too much new stuff but looks like an awesome show. I still need to buy my ticket.

6. This mascara is AMAZING! If you are looking for BAM!! eyelashes, buy it. Trust me, I know mascara ;)

5. VH1's Tool Academy.
I know I might be a total reality show junkie, but this show is freakin' A-MAZ-ING! Basically it takes couples where the boyfriend is a total egotistical tool and tries to reform them so they leave the show a decent man/boyfriend. Each week they focus on different aspects of what is important in a relationship (commitment, fidelity, etc) and whoever fails that week is booted off the show. The winning couple's reward is $100K. The show is absolutely genius.  I love seeing these guys make complete fools out of themselves, and those that actually do change remind me that all men are not completely hopeless. I really do feel for the girlfriends though...the crap they put up with.

4. Unemployment has reached over 10%; the first time it has hit double-digits in over a quarter of a century (1983, I believe). Awesome, just awesome.

3.18 days til Twilight is out on DVD!!!

2. So excited for Angels & Demons to come out in May! I loved this book, even more than The Da Vinci Code. And I just found out Ewan McGregor is in the movie!!! 10x more excited!

1. My best friend Jenny is getting married in June, and I AM MAID OF HONOR!! Woot Woot! SOOO excited! If anyone has any good MOH ideas...please send them my way!
